  1. Tell the Truth: Declare a climate and ecological emergency. Government must share with citizens a realistic appraisal of the situation based on the latest scientific understanding of the triple threats facing us: climate emergency, biodiversity loss, and environmental destruction. Government must clearly state the ecological, social and economical implications of a failure to address these threats.
  2. Act Now: Halt biodiversity loss and go carbon neutral by 2025. Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
  3. Beyond Politics: Create a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice. Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly to ensure a just transition, upholding the rights of Indigenous people, minority communities, migrants, and the needs of workers. A Citizens’ body is needed to hold elected politicians to account for climate action on a day-to-day basis, separately from and in addition to the normal electoral process.
