The Alberta government has the War Room; Extinction Rebellion (XR) has the Poetry Room.
Share in an evening of poetry expressing the ecological crisis Tuesday January 28th from 6 – 8 pm at Raw Eatery, #2, 1145 Kensington Cres NW. Special guest appearances by Kris Demeanor and David Swann.
Listen as members of Extinction Rebellion Calgary and others express their love for the living earth, and their grief and rage about the devastation we are leaving our children.
Karen Huggins, one of the organizers of the XR Poetry for the Planet event, says, “The importance of the arts in these times of climate catastrophe cannot be overrated…sharing poetry together is a way of expressing grief, love, outrage and joy, as well as a way of speaking our truths in the midst of deception”.
